Scorpo vineyard is planted on red/brown, clay/loam soils derived from Tertiary  Eocene (40 million years old) Older Volcanics.
 The vines are planted between an altitude of 70-100 metres on a N.N.E facing slope of 10%.   The vineyard is planted to Pinot
     Noir (2.25 ha),  Chardonnay (1.5 ha), Pinot  Gris (.75 ha) and Shiraz (0.5) ha.
